A brief note about me and the floss manager website

My name is Corey Wallis. Online I use the moniker Techxplorer.

I am a proud husband and father, living in Adelaide, South Australia. You can find out more about me on my main website.

One of my favourite hobbies is counted cross-stich embroidery. You can see photos of the peices that I’ve completed on my photos website. I created this website for two main reasons:

  1. To keep track of the floss in my stash
  2. Indulge in my other hobby of building websites and apps for my personal use

Keeping track of the floss in my stash is important. I do not use kits. I buy patterns and then source fabric and floss as required. I soon realised that I needed some way to keep track of my ever growing stash. Especially after I bought the same colours three times.

I started with a simple spreadsheet, but the developer in me itched to use this as an excuse to continue to explore building websites using Hugo. In 2019 I published the first version of the site, and in September 2021 I refreshed the site, based on my Intrepid theme.
